On Team Alpha, we emphasize different student learning features for the mid-year Presentations of Learning and the end-of-year Transitional Interviews of Learning. For POLs, we place all of the emphasis on helping the students develop their delivery skills. Students prepared 5-10 minute speeches on the Habits of the Heart and Mind.

For the Transitional Interviews of Learning, our focus is on getting the students to really reveal what they have learned in their 9th grade year. The essential question is, "Do you know how to be a 10th grader at High Tech High Chula Vista?" We know that making the transition from a traditional school to High Tech High schools can be difficult, so we expect that students will reveal what they have learned both from good experiences and bad experiences. While we do not expect them to be perfect, we do hope that they can communicate what steps they need to take to become successful HTHCV students in their coming three years.
